Oh, Brother!
November 1981 ~ Broadway
Bruce Adler, Judy Kaye, Harry Groener, David-James Carroll, Michael-Pierre Dean.
A Musical suggested by William Shakespeare's The Comedy Of Errors. Broadway flop with just 3 official performances. This video is most probably the Press Reels from the show as they were filmed on a tripod and the sound is patched directly into the camera. Not the complete show, just the musical numbers. Very nice for its age. B

Pippin (Bob Fosse's Master)
1981 ~ Hamilton, Ontario Canada
Ben Vereen, William Katt, Chita Rivera, Martha Raye
This video is very similar to the video that is commercially available. This is a copy of Bob Fosse's own video which he edited and returned back to the producers. It is a bit longer than the commercial video and Fosse chose many, many different angles, and different takes. This was his suggestion for how the show should be edited, but most of his suggestions were ignored. The show itself was not staged by Fosse, by his associate, Kathryn Doby, based on his original Broadway staging. It is rumored that Fosse was not happy with the video that was released, preferring this edit better, and very unhappy that his suggestions were not utilized. Has counter numbers along the bottom of the screen. Some generational loss. B

Act 1 is complete and there is only 17 minutes of Act 2; filmed from the orchestra with heads in the way and some
spotlight washout, but it's an okay capture; good sound. B
